Double Income no kids...we want kids and know we eventually have them...hopefully, but right now Im just loving this life..I been like 3 different states in a week and have a ton of other vks plan and its just nice not to have to worry about anything but the two of you. Now If I can get my hubby to have a better job where he can join me more often that would be even better. Our friends with kids you have to "Schedule" time to play with them and right now we just not ready to give up our freedom...anyone else not have babies on the brain yet?

Re: Loving being a DINK! :)
I was actually just thinking something similar. I took Monday and Tuesday off this week, plus Wednesday for the holiday, and really did nothing but read and hang out with H and our dog. It was nice. On Monday we decided to drop everything and take a mini road trip.
I'm looking forward to having kids and can't wait for us to be "ready" (or as ready as anyone ever is) but for now I'm enjoying not having the responsibility. We're only 27 so we're in no rush and are going to enjoy our time together.
oh! i haven't heard it called DINK, but we're loving it!! haha
hubby came up to visit for the 4th since we both had work off and after watching the parade and having a couple beers with a friend we came back to the nice cool apartment and spent the rest of the afternoon & evening without any clothes on hahahaha

i did a lot of things in reverse order....getting married a little older ...im going to be 32 in september...hubby is 30...but we traveled and did things during our engagement and prior to that which has me to the point now where i am working to get the house stuff in order because i just want to settle down and stop bouncing around from place to place....I want to have children soon..but financially living in NY is so hard. Our mortgage is going to be expensive, taxes etc.
While right now we are lucky to have money to buy a house being as the closing alone was 18K + a 22K downpayment, once we are there its going to be a whole different ball game again. I have been saving like a mad woman for over 2 years now for the house and pay for the wedding.... i forsee a lot of home projects. So money to go away will probably be next to nothing. We never took a honeymoon either.
I guess babies are not on the brain for me because its not practical right now...not with everything we have going on. but someday ...
DINK? I might just be a lifer =]
We aren't even sure if we want kids, and if so it wouldn't be for a couple of years yet. I've told myself that if I want to have kids, I'll start by 30 and be done by 35. Like PP said, the complications with middle age pregnancies & risk for problems with the baby exponentially increases after that point, so...no thanks. Plus, I wouldn't want to be a super old mom.
Everytime I see someone post on FB that they are pregnant or had a baby, in my head I'm like..."have fun with that!" This image sums it up for me:

LOL I love that pin!!
We do want to have kids but we are loving the DINK life (sounds like the name of a reality show) too. I was just talking to him about it the other day. I'm actually worried that we'll say "we're not ready yet" for too long b/c we like how our lives are now and we still want to visit this place or that place, etc. that before we know it, we'll be too old to have kids! So I will have to walk the line with this DINK/wanting to have kids idea
Yes! I absolutely love it! Of course we love kids and would love 2 or 3, but right now we really are just enjoying our lives with just the two of us. We don't have to worry about finding a babysitter if we want to go out or entertain our kids on the weekends. We can just go as we please.
