that you spend more money during the summer on take out and going out to eat than you do during the rest of the year?

H and I had this conversation the other night and we came to the conclusion that the heat forces us to spend more money. Anyone else think this way?

OMG YES!!! We are so bad...we said we like pretending we are millonares ever since the wedding..i think its that we have that huge stress of paying for the wedding over and now have a nice little nest egg that we lost of saving mode, but its got to stop...I slowly seeing our money dwindle and we want it for fixing up the house and vacations ahhhh! We going down the shore this week and I said after we get back we got to get strict again!

Yes! Myself and T were just talking about this yesterday. Being a SAHM it's especially bad when I do it, but seriously there is only so much BBQ one family can have. Our house has no air conditioning( where we live in the north) but the summers are still crazy hot. Cooking inside is just not an option. Here that is only 2 1/2 months of the year though so our budget can handle it. lol

We are the same way, but I'm vowing not to let it happen to us this summer!! We got a new crock pot and grill so we're going to use it!! The crock pot is especially nice since H can't sway me into going out to eat after work since dinner's already done!

No we actually spend less in the summer on take out, but that's mainly b/c I buy bulk packs of meat that can go on the grill and freeze them in individual portions. We spend more in the school year since I work almost full time and am a full time college student, we tend to eat out more often.

we were just talking about this, but like a pp said, i think it's because the wedding just got over and we just keep spending money! haha

since we only see each other on the weekend we tend to treat everytime we see each other as one giant date, so we're constantly going out to eat, drinking more than we normally would, staying up late, etc. we've got to figure out how to tame that once we finally get moved in together! haha

We definitely had this mentality for a few weeks after the wedding because we had just got so much money from wedding guests so it felt like a "cushion". Which is kind of silly because we are saving all of our wedding money and using it towards luggage, a new vacuum, and a patio set for now and then hopefully a HM in the spring of 2013.

Definitely! I just mentioned to H the other day that we need to stop eating out so much. It's just so much easier since we're out alot more in the summer. And it's always tempting to stop somewhere for ice cream too!
