How was everyone's holiday and weekend? Did you have to work?
DH had a 5 day weekend, lucky him! Since I work at home I was able to rearrange my schedule so I could kinda take advantage. For 4th of July we went to the IL's farm (they were gone though) and invited a few friends and their kids to BBQ, swim at the pool, and blow off fireworks. We spent about $400 on fireworks... crazy but at least it was split between 3 couples! It was a fun day, and both of the other couples had 6 month old babies, and both loved the water. I was just happy that the babies didn't hate me, lol.
Thursday we hung out at home because it is super, super hot around here.. been in the 100s all week! We caught up on some Mad Men episodes and just had a lazy indoor day. Friday night DH went out of town with 2 friends for a disc golf competition about 5 hours away, which took place on Saturday morning really early. So they stayed at a hotel, and came back late yesterday. Since he was gone I caught up on work, since I have a deadline for Monday on a couple things.

Our Fourth was ok. We went to our friend's house in Fort Wayne which was supposed to be a low key party and then we were supposed to stay the night. Well it ended up being an open door kind of party. We were the only married couple there, not that it mattered, but we were treated like we had some sort of disease or something by the people who didn't know us. We left at one in the morning for the two hour drive home when there were about 20 people sitting around my friend's living room smoking pot. Not that I care about the pot smoking.. But 20 people passing around 10 joints makes me nervous/paranoid.
This weekend has been quiet. We just cleaned the house and did laundry. It was too hot to do anything else! My grandparents will be in town starting tomorrow, the Fiona Apple concert is on Wednesday and my best friend from grade school is coming. So the house has to be in tip top shape.
I also made three batches of ice cream and some awesome crock pot chicken tacos. Pretty boring around here.

We were planning to grill and chill with a friend, and then go watch fireworks. Our central A/C was broken, AGAIN, and so we scrapped that plan and went into NYC to a street fair. Wow it was hot. We kept to the fireworks part of the plan, and enjoyed watching the Macy's fireworks from a riverside vantage point in Hoboken.
This weekend we've been just trying to beat the heat. I had rehearsal Friday night and all day yesterday. Heading into the last week of rehearsal before tech week, and I'm trying to finalize my pit orchestra - almost there but it can be a PITA to get things organized! Tonight H grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and we're watching Yankees-Red Sox.

I only had to work Mon, Tues, Thurs this week, so it was pretty relaxing.
We did chores and cleaned all day on the 4th, and then BBQ'd and watched fireworks with a few friends.
Friday, my MOH and her FI (and their dog) came to stay with us for about a week. It's been really nice to have them in town, since they are normally across the country!
So we walked to dinner at a local brewery on Friday night, and then Saturday they stayed at our place while we drove up the coast a couple hours for a wedding (one of H's hockey teammates). It was the first wedding we've been to since we got married, and it was a lot of fun to just be a guest. There were also lots of friends there (the rest of the hockey team) so we all had a good time.
We came home Sunday, and I thought we were just going to sit around, but we ended up going wine tasting, and then having some of MOH's other friends over for dinner. Impromptu dinner party was a little stressful for me (because I think I was the soberest one) but we had a lot of fun, and made good food!
Being back at work after so much relaxation time is rough, but I'm here, and it's quiet at my office today, so I can face reality slowly!
For canada day weekend (July 1st) we went to niagara falls and used a gift certificate we got as a wedding gift for a 'romance package' at an inn up there. It was really nice and I seriously wonder how much it cost our friends.
The next day we wandered around the falls, went on maid of the mist, and saw the place where that girl fell over the railing...
Monday we did absolutely nothing and it was all kinds of awesome.
My weekend was... ehh... I lifeguarded all weekend. Saturday I had to call security on someone who was disrespecting me and I just didn't want to put up with their crap and then on Sunday we had a carnival-like party and I had to go in the dunk-tank. Not the most fun, but I appreciate the paychecks!
