Is anyone's infant/toddler a screamer? And when I say screamer I mean, bone chilling, top of the lungs, for no apparent reason screamer? Eamon is and neither of the girls were (I know... welcome to boys) but besides it being headache inducing is starting to slowly grate on my patience. John can't stand it.
I suppose its his way of communicating but he also points at what he wants and makes those questioning sounds like "heh, eh, huh" so he knows what to do when he wants something. I can't figure this one out. I am telling you its unbelievable. I'll admit, I've covered his mouth on more than one occasion with my hand when we are in public. And its not just when he's upset, its all the time. He can be happy doing it too. So if you have had experience, please tell me he grows out of it and quick!

Re: does anyone have a screamer ??
Conall has two volumes - loud and louder. Even d/c made mention of his screaming/volume level a couple of weeks ago. It had me to a point, a few months ago, where I seriously questioned his hearing.
Now we're in the "huh?" stage? He'll ask a question, I answer. I either get the same question asked 30 seconds later or "huh?" After one "huh" I'll tell him that I know he heard me and that I'm not repeating myself.
He totally loves to get under your skin and get you riled up. He's so his father's child.
My three sons!
Part of me thinks it may be in some part related to Eamon's hearing b/c he has had so many ear infections & he tends to pull his ear at times when he screams. But on the other hand alot of times he just laughs when he does it. He's getting it checked in another month so at least that will put that to rest.
On a similar note, when Caileigh was around 3 yrs old she did the "huh" all the time along with asking to turn the music up in the car. I initially chalked it up to typical toddler behavior but we ended up getting her hearing checked and sure enough she had a loss. Enough that she was seen by ENT, had her adenoids removed & then ear tubes the following year. She never had any ear infections though but was a snorer and very nasally. Funny to look at old videos and hear her voice sounded so stuffed up. So don't discount all the "huhs" if you think it may be his hearing!
How time flies! Caileigh (9), Keira (6) & Eamon (3)
