I'm desperate... need help. A.S.A.P
I'm a brides maid and the Bride just told me that I have 1 week to organize a bach-party because he maid of honor basically messed the entire thing up. They over charged ppl and out of 30 individuals, 4 ppl have confirmed because of the price.
She and I are very embarrassed, how do I call back everyone and make amends???
What are some cheap ways to host for about 10ppl?
Really appreciate your help.
Kim.

Don't go into what happened. "Hey Ladies! There was a mix up about Megan's bachelorette party and it's actually going to be X. Sorry about the short notice, but please come if you can - it'd mean a ton to Megan." With the girls who've paid, I might privately explain what happened while giving them their refund.
My girls took me to a gay bar to see the drag queens perform - it was a hoot and the only costs were cover and however much they wanted to drink. What about a girls' night in slumber party with movies? Are there any local activities your area's famous for? (amusement park, casinos, honky tonk beach bar?)

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
I'd just be honest. You don't need to give them every detail, but let them know you have decided to go with a more affordable option. I'm pretty sure most people won't complain.
Around Philly, plenty of bars offer a 3-hr open bar for $20-25pp. We usually per-game for an hour or so at someone's house with carb heavy food (hoagies, dips, etc.) before heading to the bar. Everyone covers their own wristband. Afterwards, you go back to the house and finish off the hoagies (or to your own home and crawl into bed!).
I also like a girls night in, usually done potluck-style. It's nice to give people the option to sleep over if there will be drinking. Just let them know to bring a blanket/pillow. Not sure how formal your group it, but this has been the norm for me.
Hi! All that the PP said... plus I'm not usually a fan of e-mail invites - but in this instance I think it would be a very effective way to communicate a fun new plan for everyone quickly and would set the right tone.
