Selling Wedding Items Trouble
About a month ago I sold the 170 chair covers that I purchased to a girl who lives about 3 hours from here. I told her that even though all of the covers had been laundered that all were not perfect. I originally purchased the covers for $320 and I sold them to her for $200 plus I drove more than half way to meet her to deliver them to her. I got an email from her today saying that many of the covers were dirty and ripped. I know for a fact that none of them were ripped but I did tell her that they all were not perfectly cleaned because the cleaners could not get them all 100% clean and she said that was OK since she only needed 100 covers but was getting 170 (I refused to split up the quantity since I just wanted to get rid of them). In her email she didn't say anything about refunding any money but I don't know what to do or say to her. I have a hunch that she has already used the covers for her husband's aunts wedding and is looking to get some money back! What would you ladies do in the situation? Am I wrong to not give her anything back?
Hey, Hey Hockeytown!

Re: Selling Wedding Items Trouble
I agree w/ Melissa, and I think you're right that she probably has used them. If she's had them for a month she had more than enough time to look at them and say something earlier. If she was concerned about stains, etc. she actually should have looked at them when you met and not purchased them if she thinks they're so dirty/ripped. I wouldn't give her anything back.
I agree with this. If she's had them for about a month and is just now mentioning problems, that seems a little shady to me.
I totally agree with this! You told her they weren't 100% perfect.
I wouldn't worry about it. You told her they weren't perfect and as everyone said.. she waited a month to say anything? Shady... honestly.. i probably wouldn't even reply.
