Hi all,
I've found that we're pampers purists, after trying all available name/store brands, it just seems like pampers works best for little G. And of course, they seem to be the most expensive diaper brand
and not available at Costco, sigh.
How did/do you save money on diapers? Did you subscribe to Amazon Mom? I have concerns b/c it says "save 20% on SELECT diapers and wipes" - so if the discount isn't available on pampers, I'm not sure it's worth it for us.
We don't use wipes b/c of G's sensitive bum, we use wet paper towels, so I'm really only interested in the diapers part.
If you didn't/don't use Amazon Mom - how have you saved money on diapers?
TIA!
Re: Amazon Mom or other thrifty diaper options?
I've never done the amazon mom deal before, but I know others on here have, so hopefully they will chime in. I end up buying all of my pampers at TRU/BRU when they have their amazing deals. Every 3 months or so, they do a weekend sale where if you buy 2 boxes, you get a gift card...the last time it was for $25, the time before that it was $30. They will let you stack that deal with manufacturer's coupons as well, so you can use one regular coupon on each box of diapers, then still get the gift card. The gift card can be used on anything, so I turn around and buy more diapers the next time they have the sale. If you're a rewards member, they have a deal where if you buy 9 boxes of diapers, you get the 10th free.
Sometimes you do have to buy wipes with those deals, but not all of the time.

another amazon mom subscriber. I started with Keira and found that it was the best price for least amount of hassle. Also, having them come right to the door was a big plus. I used to do the TRU but found once they upped the prices b/w Caileigh & Keira and the coupons were less frequent Amazon was better for me. Once Eamon gets a bit bigger we'll switch to name brand diapers.
Also - for wipes you can try to make your own. If you want a recipe let me know - paper towels, baby wash & creamy baby oil with hot water is all it takes.
How time flies! Caileigh (9), Keira (6) & Eamon (3)
Thanks so much for the offer, but for the moment we're good with just wet, white paper towels. He had such a horrific diaper rash (that looked like chemical burns) when we first brought him home, I'm really scared to use anything other than plain old water.
We do amazon Prime too - I had the year of free shipping and it was awesome. I try to get most everything thru Amazon first and then look online after that. the discount we get is good enough that I don't worry about coupons and suddenly being out of diapers.
Also, we did the wet paper towels too, instead of wipes. I found Viva was the softest/cheapest/and best because of their select-a-size. We bought California Baby diaper spray, which seemed to clean him off better then just water after a super grozss poo. However, we ended up trying Huggies Natural wipes once when he was much older, (like 1.5 yrs old) and they weren't a problem. So, things might change later on.
might he benefit from cloth diapers then instead of sposies? is it possible the chemicals in the sposies are not helping the rash situation? just wondering.
You can check www.babycheapskate.com for the best diaper deals of the week. Lately I've been getting diapers at Target, stacking a manufacturer's coupon with a Target coupon when they offer the free gift card.
Then I turn around and use the free giftcard on the next batch of diapers. While I prefer Huggies, I'll buy which ever is cheapest. Then I send the Pampers to daycare because I can't stand the scent.
Once we stopped with the wipes the rash cleared up and I've stopped using white diaper cream, I use aquaphor on his buns and we've been good for 2+ months.
