If you are looking to get out this week St Sebastian's festival on McKnight/Siebert Road has started. 6:30-10 every night & Saturday; 11 pm on Friday. They have rides, games, food booths, flea market & best of all... farmers market. Good cheap produce & veggies. I'll admit parking is a pain but options are the Holiday Inn and walk across (there is a path), or offsite shuttle service at the old Chi Chi's.

Last night was not that crowded & it was a gorgeous night to be out!

They were also parking people on Babcock last night (I passed on my way home last night).
We went to the flea market on Saturday morning, OMG is was so hot in the school. I felt horrible for the people who had to sit in those classrooms!
This might be helpful too:

How have you never been to a church festival?!? When we lived on the North Side is was the highlight of the summer.
I don't know!! I was raised Catholic, too! But, my dad hates rides, amusement parks, fairs, crowds of people, etc....so that could have had something to do with it. I went to the county fair with friends once I hit high school, but places with the above-mentioned activities were never family outings for us!

Don't feel bad - I haven't either!
I'm intrigued to go, but the thought of parking logistics and such is NOT appealing to me in the least. And DH hates crowds, so that doesn't help my anxiety when at events like this.
*le sigh* First world problem.
My three sons!
Emmy, I think there are some rides Liam can go on - not all of them, but some. He can definitely play the games and such too.
There is additional parking with shuttle transfers at the old Chi Chis lot, the Stimple and Ward lot across from Sunseri's, and the upper lot of the Holiday Inn.
I'll be working flea market one or more of those nights, so come visit me if you do go.
Seriously, I LIVED for the church festival as a kid.
Funny b/c I was trying to think last night when ours started b/c we did not have it growing up. And we never went to festivals either! I don't think ours started until I was in college.
Yes - outside (although there are dinners nightly in the cafeteria vs. outdoor food (hot dogs, hamburger, pizza, funnel cakes, etc..). Note - food isn't served outside until 6:30 in case your kids are hungry. Also Ritas booth too.
Trying to think of what Liam can ride - probably the Ferris Wheel & the Merry Go Round/Carousel if you hold him (which you can do). Doubt they'd let him on the bumper cars, or the things that go round & round and make you sick. You may be able to hold him on your lap on the big slide. There are probably other kiddie rides that just require him to sit in something vs hold onto himself.
