Smoothies

C and I are working on healthier eating so I am now making smoothies for breakfast so we can drink them on the on the way to work. They are better for us and so much cheaper than drive thru food. With all of that said can you all share some of you favorite smoothie recipies with me? I can't do peanut butter/bannana and strawberry/blue berrie every morning.

TIA

Re: Smoothies

  • I don't really follow a recipe when I make smoothies, but they always have plain Greek yogurt, berries, another fruit, and OJ. Sometimes spinach if I have it.

    Few globs yogurt

    Handful berries

Handful frozen fruit (like peaches) or half banana

    About 4oz OJ

    Handful or more of spinach

    Sometimes a few sliced almonds

    Sometimes raw honey to taste

Good combos: strawberry banana, blackberry peach, raspberry peach, chocolate pb (use chocolate milk).

  • Unsweetened vanilla almond milk

    Handful of fresh baby spinach

    Spoon of Greek yogurt

Whatever frozen fruit I have on hand - Strawberry is my fave

Vanilla protein powder (if I've lifted that day)

  • My favorite a Pineapple Ginger smoothie (stolen from Pinterest):

    1/2 cup Greek yogurt

1 cup fresh or frozen pineapple (if you use fresh, use 1/2 cup ice)

    1 banana

1/2 cup of water, pineapple juice, or milk (I use almond soy milk)

    1 tablespoon of grated ginger

Blend until smooth and add a pinch of cinnamon on top if you want!
