Thursday Randoms!

Mornin' ladies.

I'm grumpy this morning... SO is on my last nerve. Gah! All I have to say is that he if off today and if I come home and the house isn't spotless he is going to be in a world of hurt. Wink OK, not really....but he atleast better do the dishes!

Re: Thursday Randoms!

  • hmmm, I know that feeling. Except I have that with a 17 year old boy.

It has been crazy busy this week. I'm super excited that a as of Tuesday a client will finally have her new machine after going back and forth for 7 months.

I have to make it to the library today for returns and Sobie meats for...well.. meat.

  • Hello ladies. I hope everyone is doing well.

I'm...freaking out. I don't feel ready at all. But what can you do, ya know? I'm excited and terrified that in 13 days I will (God willing) be at the end of this journey and on to the next phase. I feel stuck.

I hope you all are rooting (and praying) for me! I miss chatting with you. We should plan a board picnic or something soon. Time for B and me to meet some WM buddies!

    Back in 2 weeks!

  • Since they began dating, I've thought Tom was a looney toon. But this is crazy. I'm anxious to hear the details when they come out.......

I came to work and spilled OJ all over the counter. Blah.

  • I was just talking with the uniform guy at work, and he asked if I'm going to be sticking around here (I'm not, just for the summer). I told him that I have my teaching degree and am just trying to find a job. He says, "Well good luck with that, my ex-wife just got back from her 2nd time teaching overseas because she can't find anything in Colorado." Wonderful. I've been getting so discouraged over it lately.

So....I just emailed an RSVP for a baby shower of a friend.  Not a close friend, just a wife of one of Nick's friends.  I googled the address and it's 2 hours away (the address listed a township hall, which I had never heard of).  FAIL on my part for not googling first.  Had I known it was 2 hours away, I wouldn't have RSVP'd that I would attend.  What should I do, email and say "nevermind, that's too far for me to drive"?  Call the friend and tell her that I'm sorry for RSVPing as "Yes", I didn't realize it's so far away?  I still plan on giving a gift, I just don't want to waste an entire day driving for someong I'm not super close with.  WWYD?  Suck it up and go?

I don't.  I saw it on WZZM's site a week or so ago. All Muskegon schools are now going charter, and it said they were hiring teachers and adminitrators.

  • I would just say that you can't make it and gift the gift to your friend to give to the person. That should be ok.

  • Wop: I think it would be safe to explain that something came up and send a gift instead. 2 hours for a baby shower for a non close friend. I wouldn't do it.

BnG: Girl what you talking about? You got this!

Teach: I hope you find something. On the bright side you now know not to like in CO for a teaching job. There a a guy in our shared office space that wants to teach math and has been having a hard time finding a place. He did have an offer but they want to pay him $7.50 and hour. Last year he sub'ed for a few of the districts here in town. He just talked to him to see if he would be interested in tutoring SS in math.

It's been a bit crazy here at work. Several people wanting to buy new machines. :) and it also looks like 1 client maybe willing to enter into a contract with us. If I'm right I think we would get either a large amount up front or guaranteed monthly payments. DH's title with them would be ITS.

Not all Muskegon schools.  This is Muskegon Heights only at this point.  Muskegon schools are set up very strangely: there are about 12 districts that all serve the Muskegon area, but function separately.  Muskegon Public, Mona Shores, etc. are all functioning as their typical public school selves and serving students who live in those areas of Muskegon.

Has anyone ever eaten at DiPiazza's pizza?  Was it good?

  • Teachertobe6:  Best of Luck to you finding a teaching job.....I had mine for two years and was laid off due to major cutbacks.  Didn't find one the following year.  Now looking or other work, I gave up on the teaching field.  Two of my friends are unsure about their jobs for next year.  Both are hoping to find out soon or get new jobs.  I wish you the best of luck.  It is a rough field.  Best advice sub a lot in a particular district and really get to know the principal/and staff.  The more your face is there, the better they get to know you and the better your chances for long-term possitions and they will remember you for possible openings. Good luck!

Hope all you girls are doing well!  Looks like it is goig to be a nice weekend.

DH and I are celebrating our 5 year anniversary this Saturday.  WE are going to go to Sleeping Bear Dunes on Sunday for a day trip (probably pushing it w/ time, but we want to do something)  Anyone been there before??  Any recommendations as where to eat, what to see?

Today I am getting ready for my garage sale.  It is more work that I had imagined.  Hopefully all goes well.

I really don't want to go to work tonight.  I am trying so hard to find another job.  Hopefully something turns up soon.

Yes to what she said about subbing!!  My mom had to give up on teaching as well, as she was too expensive to hire after she got laid off.  She got quite a few long term sub jobs since she was math & science & they wanted people who actually new how to teach the stuff.

It is our 5 year anniversary on Saturday as well!  We're staying in town, but doing a TTD session to celebrate.  I'm really excited to put my dress on again and just play in it at the beach.  Big Smile

  • Today can shove it. I was planning to go home and clean, but now I am heading to straight to the kitchen, pouring a huge glass of wine and going to read on the porch all night.

Ruff day, eh?  I don't blame you. I would mind doing the same but I have nothing to read. I'll have to settle for mind numbing myself on pinterest instead.

  • I think within the next year, I'm going to be able to say I am ready to move on with my life.

  • Not much to say today. I have a headache and Hannah is rather crabby. What a combination!

TW, I would definitely just let them know, maybe closer to the date, that you can't make it anymore. That is nice that you still plan to send a gift.

  • TTB and smsalat I hope you both are able to find something in your field.

TTB, enjoy your wine! I think I have a headache today because I had a bit too much Sangria last night. It was so good but not sure it was worth my headache.

BnG - Good Luck! You can do it!!

Charity - I don't know much about Kentucky except that's where my grandparents are from. I hope things turn around for you - Sounds like you are planning to or are making changes.
