Caribbean in February/March?

My husband and I are planning a belated first anniversary trip and we'd like to take a cruise around February or March. Does anyone know if the weather will be decent in the Caribbean during these months? I know there is always chance of storms, but I wasn't sure how warm it is there in the winter. I'd like to be able to swim, snorkel, etc.

Re: Caribbean in February/March?

  • We did a Western Caribbean cruise this past Feb- it was the second week. We had great weather the entire time- it was a little chilly in Ft. Lauerdale, but beauitful once we hit Grand Cayman- we snorkeled a bunch when we were there- you should be fine. It did rain a little in Roatan, but nothing major.

  • The beauty of the Caribbean is the temps are fairly constant year round. This site lists the island and months.

  • During that time of the year, I would definitely opt for a southern caribbean cruise as opposed to western or eastern.  The weather will be much warmer in the southern caribbean.

agreed... go Puerto Rico or south for the best temps.  I'd also avoid the cheapy 3 night cruises during March... they'll be packed with spring breakers.

  • I've been to Riveria Maya, Mexico in January and it was high 70's - low 80's.  We went to Jamaice this past February and it was perfect - mid to high 80's every single day with not a drop of rain.  Definitely warm enough to enjoy the pool as well as the ocean.
