Landon's Eye

I thought I would tell you about Landon's eye since he always has it closed or barely open in pictures

Landon was born with ptosis, which is when the muscle in an eyelid hasn't developed, which is why the right eye doesnt open like his left eye.  We saw a pediatric eye dr. when he was 6 days old and he said to just give it time.It has gotten better...went from never opening to being open to some degree a good chunk of the day.

So we went back this week and he didn't like that it hasn't ever opened more than half way so he has to wear a patch on his "good eye" like the one in the picture everyday so the "bad" eye is forced to open at least 30-60 minutes if he wants to see. Once he has had it open that ling fir the day, it can come off for the rest of the day. There is a good chance that he will need eyelid surgery in the next year to tighten the eyelid so it opens fully. This absolutely breaks my heart. It took everything I had to not break down at that appt. I know he could have so many worse things going on with him but it still makes me sad for him. I just feel helpless with the situation and now we have to switch doctors with our move. Newborn + moving + this situation = one stressed & overwhelmed momma. :-/
