I lost a diamond from my band :(
I lost one of the black diamonds in my wedding band, and it appears that my warranty may no longer be valid. DH and I are going to the jewelry store to beg them to replace it for free this weekend, but if they say no, I may be wearing a one-diamond-less ring for quite a while. DH is having surgery late this month, closing on our house will be sometime next month, and the ring is at the bottom of the priority list.

Is it insured? I broke a diamond in my e-ring and the insurance paid for the entire cost of replacement.
Fingers crossed the jeweler will replace it for you!

Sorry Sessions! I am constantly checking mine because I'm afraid of that happening. Hope it's not too expensive to replace!
We don't have renter's either! Lol. We kept putting it off, and now that we're moving into our house next month, it doesn't make sense to get it at this point.
I'm probably just gonna have to cough up the cash for this one. But since it's such a small little black diamond, I'm hoping it will be cheap to replace.

Sorry that sucks! Hopefully it's not too expensive to replace the one stone.
Ditto Joanna, definitely include it on your homeowner's insurance.
Just curious, were the warranties that you and other posters talked about ones that you paid extra for, or just a standard "6 month" type thing that came with the purchase. Just wondering -- my e-ring has no warranty with the store, but with my wedding band and anniversary band I bought the store's lifetime warranty, which includes stone replacements, sizing for life, cleanings, etc. It was only $70 for each. Not sure if it's an option after the purchase or not, but could be something to look into, in addition to the insurance rider. For us, replacing the band would be about the same as our deductible, but if the e-ring, or all the rings were lost/stolen/damaged, it would be worth filing a claim.

I'm sorry Sess. I lost a diamond in my band too, about 2 months ago. The jewelers replaced it for free. I'm not sure if it's common, but my jewelers will replace them as long as you bring in your rings every 6 months to get checked. I hope your jeweler will stand by their product even if it is slightly after the time frame of the warranty.
Yep, that's exactly the warranty I have, but I've missed the last couple 6-month checkups (DH and I bought our wedding bands over a year before the wedding at a clearance sale, so it's been like 2 years since I bought it). They sized it for free a few months back, though, so maybe they'll honor it anyway. Gonna try to go by there after work tonight and see.

YES, which is the one good thing about this whole experience.

I'm pretty sure that $65 of that is labour and upcharging.
