Happy Friday girls.
Business as usual here. Get SS to school and then off to work.
Re: Friday!!!! the 13th!
No clue. We don't have the access like we do during normal school sessions. We are hoping he takes it seriously because if he doesn't pass he owes $100.
Somehow I managed to sleep with my contacts in last night. My head & my eyes are not happy with me. So much for trying to start the day productively.
Lake MI is full of algae down here (it wasn't up north last week) so the train of my wedding dress is now green & brown. It's just lovely. It's airing out on the porch right now. I'm hoping most of it will just flake off then, so that I can wait until Monday to have it cleaned.
Well you did do a trash the dress session. I think the point of the shoot is to "trash" your dress, no? If I did a TTD session, I would truly trash my dress and probably end up throwing it away. Haha. But my dress was a basic David's Bridal cheap-o.
This is my 4th TTD since the wedding, and I've get to truly trash it. Really, that's pretty hard to do unless you're just nuts, rolling around in rust or tar. It has a few tears here or there & has gotten grubby, but even fully sumberged in a stream & pond, it came out in good shape after a cleaning. The biggest stain I have on it is from motor oil in a parking garage, and that was just from walking TOO the photo shoot. I just wasn't expecting the huge algae bloom down here when it was so clear up north that I could still see the sand grains when up to my shoulders in the lake last week.
I'll never throw mine away. I like it way too much, algae & all.
I've toyed around with the the idea of TTD session. My dress wasn't that expensive. I was a knock off of a David's Bridal dress that I sent away for. Part of my wants to donate it and another part of my wants to do something creative with it. Darn my Gemini personality.
They really are a LOT of fun, especially if you get a creative photographer or do it with a friend who is good at taking pics. I just love working with the contrast of the pretty, pristine white dress & then some crazy background of graffiti or a burned out bus (the ones I did with fellow July07 brides in Vegas were spectacular). In this case they ended up being more like bridal portraits than TTD, but I think they'll be great. We didn't love any of our wedding photos, even though plenty were nice, so maybe these will be even better.
What's everyone up to tonight?
A friend invited SO and I to her boyfriend's birthday pool party. I said that we would go, and then she tells me it will start around 9pm. What? Huh? I will probably be in bed by then..... haha. I will feel bad if I don't go, but after a long day at work I will have no ambition to go party.
That stinks! Any idea why your soup exploded?
Bummer about the party. I'd be inclined to ask if you could arrive early to help her set up & then maybe not stay for very long. I don't really see the point of a pool party starting when it is starting to get dark. Maybe I'm just too old!
Hi all!
I've heard of the TTD sessions before but I love my dress too much to do anything like that. It will just sit in it's bag until...forever!
9pm seems late to start a pool party to me too. I'd maybe stop by for a bit but not plan to swim and just tell her you had a long day and really can't stay long.
I took Hannah to Jester's Court Play Center today. It's off of 96 and Fruit Ridge Ave. Huge indoor bounce houses and play area for little ones. She had so much fun! We will definitely be going back. For any of you moms who have been to Java Gym, this is way better! Haven't been to the Bounce Factory in Holland yet but will probably try that some day too.
Today is day 3 of my headache. I need to make a chiropractor appointment but I just keep putting it off. No big plans this weekend. Maybe we will buy paint tomorrow to paint the trim outside, it needs it. Oh and we are going microwave shopping, FUN! Haha I am so sick of ours doing whatever it wants and not working right. I think we are going to check ABC warehouse? to see if we can find a decent one for a good price.
I told SS that if we have $30 to spare we can go to the Farmer's Market. I'm waiting to see if we do have money to spare.
It's Raining!!!!!
Hi all! I got one of those Refreshers from Starbucks today. I got the Berry one. One of my co-workers got the berry and lime mixed (which was much better than mine!)
No big plans this weekend which will be nice. I'm reading an interesting book, so I bet I'll get through a lot of that. Other than that, I'm not sure what. I have a presentation next Monday and Thursday (which I'm super nervous about, because I haven't done anything like this since college!) so I'll probably be practicing this weekend at least a couple times. But, I really just want to relax! Which, I should have plenty of time to do! yay!
