Help me shop -- work bag

I'm looking for a bag for work that I could use to take grading home, permission slips/medical release forms/music for trips, and possibly a smallish laptop when we go on school trips. I don't even know where to begin. Help me out? My purse is currently a Target $10 clearance find and it needs to be replaced, too, and I can't even find a basic handbag I like, let alone something for work!

  • Have you ever heard of ThirtyOne Gifts? My SIL who is an English teacher uses at ThirtyOne Organizing Utility Tote for her school stuff and says it is perfect. They have great bags, totes, purses and accessories in great prints, options and you can have your bag monogrammed. I am a consultant so you can check out thier items at www.mythirtyone.com/116821; please let me know what you think.

  • If I were looking for something similar, I would try Collected Thread in the Plaza District on NW 16th.  I'm not sure what their current inventory is, but this is a bag on their website that seems like it might work for your purposes:

  • I just found a large purse/small tote bag style bag at the Nine West outlet at the outlet mall over the weekend that I'm using as my new work bag. I'm not sure if it's real leather or not, but it looks much more professional than the free fabric tote bag I had been carrying for the past 3 years. With the "sale" they had going on, I paid around $50 with after tax. I got the grey, but I think they also had black and brown.

  • Nine West and Collected Thread are great suggestions. I've seen a few large Fossil totes that I thought were really cool recently. I'd probably check out the Fossil store at Penn Sq. and then search for a better price online.
