B Moss is closing all stores :(
I went to the one up at Capital City. I walked in and saw 50% off signs. I continued to look around and then saw- Everything Must Go! I was thinking hmm sometimes stores liquidate to get newer stuff. So I asked the sales clerk- The B Moss stores aren't closing are they? She said Yes they just found out. It was a sudden thing. Apparently there is a conference call tomorrow.
This is sad. This is my next go to store after New York and Company- they have great sales.
Just thought you ladies would like to know!
Re: B Moss is closing all stores :(
Oh darn! I always find some great sweaters and shirts in there! They used to be my fav, but Ann Taylor beats them no sweat.
I used to like NY&Co but their shirts shrink so they are so short. I have a shirt that was normal size and now it could be a belly shirt it is so short! I wear it under a long sweater shirt. And I always seem to have trouble with their zippers not staying up.
I'm not a B Moss shopper (their stuff has never fit me properly), but it is so sad to me what the state of the economy is doing to all of these businesses. I feel like everytime I turn around, more seemingly popular stores are closing their doors.
Bummer and sorry to those of you that are B Moss fans (I know there's some!).
... every single day of forever.
This is sad. It's one of few stores that I feel is age appropriate for me, since I live in a college town. Yes, there are 2 lingerie stores aimed at college kids in the mall, but no where for me to buy maternity clothes other than Target and Kohl's. I guess Anne Taylor Loft will have to do when I fit back into regular clothes.
I've seen this too, and the simple fact of the matter is that, depending on the fabric, clothing WILL shrink. Anyone in fashion will tell you that if you want your clothes to continue looking like they did when you bought them, you need to baby them - which means line drying, gentle wash, etc. I line dry all of my pants to prevent shrinkage, as well as my cotton tops and sweaters.
FWIW, the only issue I have with NY&Co. clothes are their pants - mine tend to pill up pretty quickly, but when they're as cheap as they are, I don't care as much about having to replace them more frequently. I struggle enough finding pants that are long enough for me AND that aren't super expensive (I spend my days crawling on the ground, yet still have to be in dress pants - I am *not* about to spend a lot of money on something that's going to be donation-bound within a school year, anyway). I have a winter coat from there from two winters ago that I STILL love and it looks like it did the day I bought it.
... every single day of forever.
My sister told me about this Friday - she's so bummed! I usually can find things I like in there but I don't shop there super often. It is always sad when a business closes.
(and Felicia - I hear ya! When are we going to get some decent shopping here?!? Geez!)
That really is sad. It is unfortunate what the economy is doing to stores that have been around for quite some time. While I have mixed feelings on a bailout for the auto industry, can you imagine if GM, Ford, and Chrysler went under? These are companies that have been around forever. I really hope things turn around soon.
As for the wear and tear on clothing, I wash basically all of my stuff that is quote "good" or work wear on gentle cycle and then line dry. Regardless if it's a $20 pair of pants or $80, I'm not willing to risk it looking worn! And Ashlee...you're right, by the end of the year the knees might be worn...or more likely than not, I have accidental pencil marks, markers, etc, you name it on my pants!?
?
Ditto! I love our B Moss!!
Although I have to say, I'll look forward to their store closing sale! I will definitely be shopping there in the store's last days!
Thanks for the info! B. Moss is one of my favorite clothing stores, so I will have to try to hit them up before they're closed. Do you know when they are planning to be closed by?
