Insanity workout?!?

Anyone else crazy like me and doing this??? I have decided that I gotta get my butt motivated and need to get back in shape hardcore! So I am starting off with healthy dieting once again and doing this workout is my first attempt....after this I'm gonna take on P90X! So who else is trying something insane to get fit?

Re: Insanity workout?!?

  • We're getting the program from my cousin and starting next week.  I need something to do in this humidity when I can't get out to run.

  • We did P90X last Spring before our wedding.  It was definitely amazing and, because we did it together, we definitely stuck to it for awhile.  I lost about 20lbs in a month and a half.  I gained it all back after the wedding, though.

By then, we had all of our weights packed while we were selling/moving, so we couldn't get back into it like we had planned.  I definitely plan to do it again between children!

  • I did it in September/October to try to lose the baby weight from #1 before TTC #2.  I lost 17 lbs in 2 months and also combined with almost daily Shakeology.  I personally think Insanity is intense.  I would be exhausted after 5-10 min of warmups and I could run 2.5 miles in 30 minutes (more if I tried but i get bored with running) already so I was in decent shape.

If i was doing it again, I would start with P90X and then do Insanity after bc Id definitely got frustrated not being able to do some of the exercises in Insanity.  I'm starting P90X at 4 weeks post partum this time around.

  • My sisters have it. My youngest sister is in great shape, only made it through 30 days. My other sister said she wanted to cry and not even do it. Just a warning. But it does work, you just have to be willing to stick to it.

As for P90X, my aunt does it to shape up for winter sports (they live in Jackson Hole and do a lot of skiing) She told us that you have to be willing to commit not only to the workout portion but also the dietary part. The same would be true for Insanity if you want to see the results. RIPPED is a similar style workout.

I will stick to TRX and bootcamp workouts myself. Insanity and P90X are way too intense for me.
