So, after spending our entire Sunday at Ikea, we have new cabinets! So frickin' excited.
We ended up going with white since the other ones Nathan liked are discontinued. While we do have to go with a regular old school fridge we did fit in a dishwasher! ![]()
So, now I need to choose appliances and flooring. I am thinking a greyish stone for the flooring and I like white appliances (SS is a bad idea with a horrible drool machine of a dog). We will most likely be putting the house on the market in the next year if we find something so while I want it to reflect us, I also want it to have appeal to a buyer.
So any ideas?
Re: Flooring Help
I think a grey-ish stone would look great - if you are doing white cabinets and appliances, I think you need something grey/darker to balance it out.
What kind of counter top? Are you doing a backsplash?
Counter top is an oak butcher block. Backsplash is undecided until we decide on a floor but we definitely need to do something since we are doing a slide-in range.
I think the white cabs with oak counters and a gray tile floor sounds gorgeous. I love the mix of warm and cool tones.
I think a simple white penny tile or subway tile backsplace would be pretty and have wide appeal for buyers.
I would do a greyish stone with some gold running through it to pick up on the counter top since its a butcher block ( which I love) and then I would do a glass tile backsplash to tie it together.
