Hey everyone! How was your weekend?
When I got in this morning a coworker had sent me an email forward ragging on Obama and Muslims.....I'm not getting into politics here, but that was not something I wanted to read.
Re: Monday July 16th Randoms
At the last wedding we attended there was a woman wearing a huge t-shirt, athletic pants and high top sneakers. She also didn't let go of her Big Gulp through the entire ceremony and reception.
Wow. And Yikes! There must have been something special in that Bib Gulp cup!
Anyone have their menus for the week?
So far I'm thinking veggie ziti, chicken with goat cheese, lemon salmon, and maybe steaks on the grill one night.
This week I'm doing Aloha Chicken burgers

Homemade sloppy joes
Frozen Pizza
Not sure what else we'll have this week.
I have a roast in the crock pot for tonight.
This for tomorrow. http://www.skinnytaste.com/2012/06/crock-pot-chicken-cacciatore.html#more
So a friend of mine on FB just wrote that she just took 2 month old baby to her first chiropractic visit. Thoughts?
It seems people are getting lazy with dress at weddings. I knew some of DHs family would show up in jeans and tshirts and there wasn't much I could do about it. I had to deal with that myself and learn to be ok with it. I was surprised that most came in their "nice" jeans.
Last night we had meatballs with pomegrante chipotle sauce and cream cheese in the crock pot. They were great! Next time I am going to try and make my own meatballs though.
TTB - I've seen a chiropractor on and off for 12 years and it really has helped me a lot with headaches and back troubles. I would love to take my daughter to the chiropractor but my husband is very much against it so I will respect how he feels until she has an issue that a chiropractor can help with. They say that birth is a "traumatic experience" and early adjustments, even the day they are born, can help with ear infections, colic, and other issues that babies have. I would only take my daughter to one that is actually certified in adjusting children though - there is extra, special training that Chiropractors need to do to be "certified" to adjust children.
I've never heard of an infant going before. I have a terrible taste in my mouth from my previous chiropractor that screwed me over, so my opinion is maybe not so fair.
DH and I did the Michigander bicycle tour this past weekend. I wrote about it here: http://thelocalcook.com/2012/07/16/i-survived-the-michigander-2-day-bicycle-tour/
It was not easy, that's for sure, but it was still fun and I'm glad we did it. I only hope we can keep up the exercise.
I leave for Honduras really early tomorrow morning.
Have a safe trip Wendy!!
If I developed a trusted relationship with a chiropractor or kinesiologist then I would most definitely take my baby. Birth is hard on a baby's body and adjustment can be done very gently to help get everything lined back up where it should be. It can also make a HUGE difference with reflux, which has been plaguing a lot of kids lately.
I have a kinesiologist now that I love and I would definitely take my child if I had one. I trust him with my health, & he's made a much bigger difference for me, than any DO or MD ever has.
