before my wedding my MOH and I talked daily. When she was here she was ALWAYS on the phone with this guy she is dating. She knew him in HS and dated on and off again since then. Since she left to go home from the wedding I have talked to her 2 or 3 times. She didn't call or text or anything for my birthday. I called her everyday for like 2 weeks after the wedding then started calling her once a week and she never answered the phone or returned phone calls, so I slowed down calling her. She called me the other day and just vented about her family the entire time didn't asked how I was doing then hung up. She used to complain about another friends who did what she is doing now. I don't know what to do, I don't want to lose her friendship, but you can't make someone be your friend. I just needed to vent a little

Re: friends
I feel ya....I feel like Im in a similar boat...just different a bit...that all of sudden I dont have the wedding to consume all the conversations they seem to not want to talk about anything??? even though I try to talk about their kids etc...??? like hello??? But my MOH did apolagize today and said we will hang out soon...I miss her damnit Lol...
But on a different end....DH's one best friend who stayed here for 3 days before wedding and pretty much kept him sane day of etc...promised he would let us know when him and his gf and kids were up here this weekend and DH just spotted a pic of his girls from a friend on facebook(local)...OUCH I mean I get if he cant spend time with us..but he has been trying to call and text all week to find out so we could plan around them...Im livid for hubby...he actually laid in bed and got teary eyed
He is VERY hurt...I want to say something to them...but he doesnt want me to...ughhh...how would u handle this?? Least I was able to cheer him up with some umm.."sextherapy" hehe

I am so sorry! This happened to me before... my college BFF and I hung out everyday at college and talked everyday over the summers we were apart. When I started dating DH she stopped initiating contact with me, even though I continuied to call/text the same rate I did before until finally I stopped contacting her and then she only contacted me to vent. Eventually we just stopped talking. I have no idea why she never wanted to really be my friend once I had a boyfriend considering she had one the entire time we were in college.
It seems maybe your friendship just ran its course...
I feel you too! Not that my friends are bad by any means, but I think that once you get married and start your lives together, you become so busy! At least I am.. balancing a full-time job, getting things done around the house, cooking, cleaning, etc takes a lot of time.. and being new home owners, it takes a lot of money too!
I think my friends don't really understand that yet, since they aren't married... I can't wait for the next few months when they are because then they will realize why I don't have time to just drive 4 hours to see them for random things now. I feel bad, but its life!
I felt like I lost alot (maybe most) of my friends when H and I started getting more 'serious'. I was really hurt because I have already said I am not going to be one of those girls who stops hanging out with her friends just because shes found a guy. I never expected what actually happened, and most of my friends stopped even trying to hang out with me!
Having said that I have found that some friends have stepped up IF I inniciate with them, and a lot just have kind of disappeared. BUT on the flip side we have made some awesome married couple friends and I have made some great friends in some of his friends gf's or wives.
Its sad to lose friends, but I think when you change which stage in life you are in...not everyone is ready, or wants, to adapt to that change with you. I know we have tried to hang out with married friends more and its been a huge new blessing to me!
My Blog:Through My Eyes
I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. I haven't talked to my MOH at all since the wedding.
I emailed her after we got back from our honeymoon trying make plans. She Facebook messaged me a couple weeks later saying she was busy but would love to make plans. I replied and she never answered. Then I didn't even hear from her on my bday, until 3 days later when she FB messaged me again just saying happy belated bdaym and I haven't heard from her since (my bday was July 2). It kind of pisses me off.
I finally got to see my MOHs this weekend and it was like no time had gone by at all! I hadn't seen them since the wedding and although we've talked on the phone every now and then, I have been so busy since the wedding that getting together was almost impossible. They are both really bad at answering phone calls...everytime I call them they don't pick up...then they call back a week later. I know they're busy so I try not to let it bother me.
Maybe she's going through some stuff, or she's just really busy too. If this friendship is something you want to keep, I'd just keep trying to call her every so often, and if she continues to ignore you or only calls to talk about her...it may be worth taking a step back and wait for her to contact you after she realizes that she misses talking to you.
