7th interview

My interview went well, besides the fact that at first the P thought I was someone else and couldn't find my file when I told her my name. There were multiple interruptions. The secretary wasn't there, so the P had to answer the phone once. Another time, one of the PE teachers came in right behind the P and put his hands softly on her shoulders and ended up scaring her. He came in because the door near the entrance wouldn't stay open and she asked him to take a look at it. She told him what door it was and after he looked at it he came back and told her what was wrong. There were at least 5 times the interview stopped because of other people.

At the end of the interview the P told me the salary I would be starting at and about the benefits package. She also told me I would not hear back until Thursday or Friday and not to panic if I didn't hear from her by Wednesday. She is waiting on final enrollment numbers. She just hired a 2nd grade teacher, but their 2nd grade enrollment is dropping and she said they may combine the 2nd graders with 1st grade to do a 1st/2nd class and not need the 1st grade position they interviewed me for. I am really hoping they won't decide to combine the classes. She told me she didn't want to hire me and have to call me 2 days later to tell me they didn't need me anymore. The good thing is the P does the initial interview for ALL 3 of their charter schools, so if for some reason the 1st grade position is not needed, she could pass my name onto the other schools.

I told my husband all of this and he said it sounds like I could really have this job. I think he is right, but am reluctant to think so only because of the enrollment numbers dropping. Also when I left my interview I saw another lady getting out of her car in the parking lot and dressed super professionally. She was trying to figure out what door to go into, so I am sure she was my competition. I was a little intimidated.
