2nd interview @ Charter School!!

I spent the whole night working on typing up papers that will be in my F.I.S.H. Book (adaptation of take home folder) that I will use for communication between home and school. I finally stopped and checked my email at 11pm and guess what I found.... I found an email from the principal at a second charter school, the same system I interviewed at today, for an interview. She wanted me to respond to her email with a time and date that would be convenient for me. I told her Wednesday morning would be ok because I am working and would like to give my current employer some notice that I will be out. I am going to call and follow up with her tomorrow when I am on my lunch break since I don't have access to email at work.

Her email brought tears to my eyes. The P I interviewed with today does the initial interviews for the 3 charter schools in the system. She told me she would pass my information on if another school asked if she had any candidates who made it through the initial interview. Technically, this is going to be my 2nd interview with the charter school, just a different location and P.

Do you think I made a mistake about mentioning I would like to schedule the interview around my current job??

Yahooo!!!! That is awesome news! I do not think you made a mistake mentioning that you want to schedule around your current job. If anything it shows that you're dedicated to work and dont want to inconvience them. That's always a positive.

I'm so excited for you, Megan! I hope this second interview goes well! I don't think you made a mistake mentioning your current job. It was listed as part of your work experience, right? They probably expect that you'll need to schedule around it. I know it's a little different but when I used to interview people for retail positions, I completely understood that they needed to work around current plans.

Anybody who doesn't understand this is probably not somebody that you'd want to work for anyway.
