Been slowly getting through our catch-all spaces and organizing and clearing them out. Here's my mudroom, before and after my clean sweep.

Next step is adding some color and accessories to the room. I bought fabric to attempt to make a couple throw pillows for the bench. And I want to add some pictures to the wall. What a transformation already! Now to get the rest of my house to look as good
Re: Cleaning House (pip)
Wow! What a transformation! What colors do you want to add?
(and Shannon is getting so big! I wish I didn't have to save up all my vacation time for maternity leave, it would be fun to take a day off and come play with you guys!)
yay alicia!!!!!
I tackled my kitchen drawers yesterday and it felt WONDERFUL. I threw out an entire trash bag of stuff - from the drawers!
if there's time this week I will do the lower cabinets as well, then in 2 weeks it's on to the dining room. Each weekend I'm picking one room or part of a room and the clutter is going AWAY.

For now, I have purchased these cotton fabrics:
I bought enough to make two 12"x24" lumbar pillows for the bench. The bench seat is actually 49" wide, with a lip around the sides and back. I just want something to make the back a bit more comfy since it sits underneath a window... and bring in lots of color!
Also going to attempt a cat-shaped pillow... if the first two come out good. I don't have a working sewing machine, so I'm going to be doing a combination of fusible hem tape and hand-stitching to make the pillows.

Shannon is getting big. But, compared to her, Kyle has gotten HUGE! He's less than 3" shorter than her now. Here's a pic of them from the other day... doing something they're not supposed to be doing. What can I say, they're my kids! I would have climbed up the outside of those stairs too when I was little!
When you are on maternity leave, we'll have to come and play with Tynan so that you can get a little break! It can be overwhelming having to care for a toddler and a baby. Right now, we've got Thursdays free from Fall through Spring
