Wedding wear s/o...how would you interpret this?
We are going to a wedding in North Carolina the last weekend in October. The attire is: "Mountain Casual." What in the world does that mean? I have also learned that this wedding is at a lodge, and there will be a Southern Style Barbeque for the reception...complete with a bonfire and s'mores bar. Totally sounds like fun for this outdoorsy couple...but, what am I supposed to wear?

The immediate picture I got in my mind was a sundress with cowboy boots, kind of like this...

I don't love this outfit, but this is the general look that came to mind.
I would go with a nice fall day dress with a boot and tights. Since it is at the end of October, I don't think I would go with a sundress. While the weather is nicer in NC it is still fall.
For your husband, I would do a nice khaki in either navy or tan with a nice plaid or striped button-down shirt.
Here is a link to what "Mountain Casual" means, hope it helps!

Thanks ladies! I'm probably going to steer clear of the sundress because it is going to be chilly at night I'm sure...and if it's outside, I'm not sure I want to be caught without layers to get me through day to evening. I've got some really cute ideas for the boys and the hubby...but man oh man...I'm going to have real trouble with this one. I have to go shopping. Thanks for posting the pics...that definitely helps...but, it makes me realize I have n.o.t.h.i.n.g. updated that fits the bill. And the definition of mountain casual made me laugh.
As an aside...I wonder what the bride and groom are wearing. Hmmmmmmmm
I would wait until the end August, beginning September. Look at Lands End, they usually have a lot of nice options for reasonable and they always have a sale or discount code. I love the fact I can order it, try it on at home, then return to Sears.
Last fall they had some nice modal knits that would work perfect for this occassion. Similar to this, this, or this
Hiking boots, jeans, a tank with a button down over it and a sun hat...maybe a walking stick?
I'll admit I haven't a clue.
Mandy took the thoughts right out of my head!
My three sons!
I think you need a plaid flannel shirt dress and some fun boots with tights.
Like this. = )
