Yesterday, I was told that someone in my department with much less experience in child welfare, less seniority, and less education then me is being made assistant manager. Plus she will be taking lead on a project that i have already put several hours in making time sheets, note sheets, and inputting information. Then I was told I might get a raise in Jan. I want to know why Jan, the fiscal year started July 1 and my two year anny is in Oct. Whenever they need help I am always asked to help and do whenever i can. I can't even explain how I feel dejected I feel right now. I so wish I could leave this job for a place that actually respects me.

Re: So angry I want to cry
Maybe she's just blowing the right person.
Ok, maybe that is a silly way to rationalize it...but in situations that aren't rational, those life-just-isn't-fair-sometimes days, I usually tell myself stuff like this (even if I know it's probably not realistic) to make myself feel better through amusement.
Sorry to hear that things didn't work out in your favor. Things will work out for the best, maybe this is the universe's way of telling you that there is something better waiting for you!
This so make me laugh! Thank you. I thinking part of making me laugh was I work in an all female office and the director was a nun. So it just all seemed so funny and why I prob never thought about that. She is a kiss butt, lol.
Things are calming down with DH and his work and all I think I will start studding for my LMSW exam. Once I get in throw it in everyone's face, I will be more certified then any one in the office then, they will have to show me more respect, and I will look for better jobs.
One reason I want to wait a little while to look for a new job is this summer I will be supervising 4 HS students working for our agency through a Latino organization, so that is great to put on my resume as supervisory experiences, and i will be a point person for a peer parenting project another great thing for my resume.
I totally feel this way at my job most days anymore. I have a MS in school counseling but I also live in a very rural area, that finding the job was impossible. Not to mention the fact I WASN'T blowing the right people! (clearing throat)
Hang in there. I know it seem tough sometimes, but you will be better off in the long run. Build up your resume as much as you can and take from this job as much as you can that will help you in your future job.
