The post below got me thinking about how I will diaper our next DD. I will likely use Pampers Swaddlers for the first couple months as Ive found that they really fit the best on newborns and I like the laziness of their colored line indicating a dirty diaper. After that though, what do you think?
My most hypocritical move in life is that I claim to try to live "green" and care about the environment but I have zero interest in cloth diapers . So cloth aside....has anyone found any earth friendly disposables (oxymoron I know) that actually work (nearly) as well as the standard ones and seem like they'd be comfortable rather than like tree bark on your a**? Im open to the semi-disposable ones(G-diaper esque) as well, but at this point, the investment may not be worth it since this is likely our last child--I dunno, you tell me.
We use Seventh Generation for DD but Im not totally sold on their very minor step toward earth friendliness. Early on we used Nature Babycare and I loved them but then they changed them and I hated the new ones (I havent given them another try recently though so maybe they've gotten better after the customer backlash that came of their changes).
Thoughts?
Re: Speaking of Diapers....options?
Nature baby care are the wipes we use. I really like their product line and customer service.
Hybrd cloth how about bum genius flip has that option.
we also use nature babycare wipes and i love them. however, the diapers (last I tried them) leaked, fit oddly, and felt like butcher's paper. I might try them again this time around just to see if they've changed their design because the very first time I tried them I really liked them, then they changed and were terrible, then the customers yelled at them and they supposedly changed again.
I think Jessica Alba just came out with an organic disposable diapers. I have no idea what they are like, and I assume they cost a fortune, but it's another option.

Yes I saw that, and you're right, they cost a fortune. Well, maybe not a fortune, but they are a little more expensive and the shipping is RIDICULOUS! They are super cute though, however I never understood why having cute diapers was a priority. Maybe Im odd but my kid is never just in a diaper so it seems pointless to pay more for cute ones that will be hidden by pants anyway.
I totally agree with you, but I also totally bought Huggies Hawaiian diapers because they are so cute. Who cares if no one sees them...I do! ;-)
I have never heard of Huggies Hawaiian diapers but if they are anything like what Ive made up in my mind, they are worth the money. However, the denim jean ones...blech. I feel like they should come with a case of Coors Light and an infant mullet wig. However, many of my quite classy friends think they are adorable so maybe Im crazy.
They are so cute. http://www.target.com/p/huggies-little-snugglers-hawaiian-diapers-step-2-72-count/-/A-14038869
As the reviewer said, "We may not be able to afford to visit Hawaii, but my baby's bottom will give view of the tropics."
I don't get the jean ones either. At all.
