Update on my MRI

It really helps to know a doctor! The lady I personal train has a husband who is a doctor. He works as a radiologist in the office where I got the MRI done at. He said he would take a special interest in my test. He was able to look at it today.

He said that my MRI showed a fibriod behind my uterus. I guess that is the best case sanario. It's a lot better than it being a tumor! A fibriod is always non-cancerous. Thank God!

Now, I'm now waiting to figure out what my obgyn wants me to do but he (the doctor I know) test thinks I should see an fertility specialist.

Also he said he is fairly certain I have PCOS but my obgyn said that based on the bloodwork she does not think I have PCOS. My next step is probably going to be cancelling the oncologist appointment and making one with a fertility specialist.

Re: Update on my MRI

  • Yay for it being a fibroid! That is great news! I dont think it would hurt to at least have a consult with a fertility specialist just to get thier take on what is going on.

  • What a relief Tara?! You must be so happy and overjoyed it is NOT cancer. I too say go and see the fertility specialist. That way your mind will be put at ease.

  • So happy it's not cancer.  I know you were worried.  With the conflict of opinions you're getting, I agree that it might be best to see a fertility specialist.  At least then you could get more information about your options and maybe a definite answer regarding the PCOS.

  • Thanks everyone! Yes, I'm relieved that it's not cancer. I just hope this fibriod can be removed so it doesn't affect my ability to concieve or carry a baby.
