I need a dessert...

That would go with pizza. We're having a girls night Friday, and I want to bring a dessert that would be good to eat after having pizza. Thoughts?

Re: I need a dessert...

  • When I think of pizza I think of ice cream.  I make something similar to this and it is delicious!  I don't have my exact recipe at work.  I also put it in a 9x13 tupperware dish with a lid so it is easy to transport.  You have to let it sit out for a little while before you cut it.

  • Awesome! Thanks ladies! I love the suggestions- now to just make a decision.

Katie- for the chocolate chip dip, what do you use to "dip" in the dip?

  • Nilla wafers, animal crackers, graham cracker sticks all work great.
  • Strawberry shortcake... can all be done ahead of time.

    Fruit skewers

cinnamon pizza... tortilla or pita bread, brush with butter and then sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar... crisp up in the oven

oreo truffle balls: one pkg cream cheese, one whole pkg of oreos, bakers chocolate.... crush all oreos into crumbs in a ziplock with a meat pounder or a hammer or whatever... mix with the cream cheese... roll into balls and dip in melted baking chocolate... AHHHHmazing!! Nice to have it done ahead of time also and always a big hit with parties... serve with ice cream to make it more of a main dessert.

Some kind of "pie" to go with the pizza "pie" theme... one I like is banana cream pie made easy.... line the bottom of your dish with nilla wafers... cover with banana pudding layer, a layer of sliced bananas (if desired) and then a whipped cream later and if desired, more bananas.  This can be done in a pie pan or in a casserole dish. Should be done ahead of time and refrigerated to allow cookies to get soft on the bottom.
