DH and I are taking a just-the-two-of-us trip mid-August...our last trip alone before Baby #2 arrives. Due to scheduling and baby-sitters for DD, mid-August is our only chance.
Any suggestions on destinations? It would be a long weekend, under 1K if possible and given that I'll be 16 weeks along, somewhere not 5000 degrees outside.
Thanks!

Re: Mini-Vacation in August?
Cannon Beach on the Oregon Coast (1 hour drive from Portland). It's our fave weekend getaway destination...huge beautiful beach, stunning scenery and the the town of Cannon Beach is awesome - lots of boutique shops, great restaurants and cafes, antique shops and art galleries. Go, you'll love it
p.s. We always stay at the Surfsand Resort, highly rec it (http://surfsand.com).
Why not do a stay-cation? Stay in town, do things you can't normally do with your daughter around. We have kids and I would love to just go to a movie and dinner without having to worry about the kids or returning home to them. I'd love to shop in town or go to the places we used to before kids.
If you're set on going somewhere else~NYC is always my vote. Love theatre, so many live shows you can do, Statue of Liberty, lots to eat and see. There are great deals through local hotels in Times Square (we like Comfort Inn) or through vacation rentals . com. Although, it may be hot! You could do it for under 1K if you plan in advance.
