Hi Nesties!
For those of you who don't know me, I am Nest Dani, the community coordinator for The Nest. I am slowly trying to make my rounds on the anniversary boards and introduce myself. I wanted to stop over here next so that, like the post below, I could say "Happy Third Anniversary!" I created my own little get-to-know-me survey, but feel free to interrogate me with other questions you might think of.
Name: Nest Dani
What do you do: I'm the community coordinator for The Nest.
Where are you from: I'm originally from Iowa (corn fed!), but I'm now living in the Big Apple.
Relationship status (Facebook style): Single
Describe your personality: I would say I am pretty outgoing. My friends are oftentimes amazed at how easily I can strike up a conversation with a stranger on the subway. I think that's the Midwest girl in me.
5 things I love: My family, friends, fur babies -- I have two cats back home: Lucy & Ethel and I play stepmother to my roommate's cat The Duchess -- and my edible loves: cupcakes and ice cream.
5 things I dislike: Waking up in the mornings, subway rodents, scary movies, mushrooms and seafood -- but I am working on this one since I live on the coast now!
Favorite movie: I have a lot of favorite movies; I don't know if I could pick just ONE. But anything with Julia Roberts generally ranks pretty high.
Do you like winter or summer? I would usually say summer, but while I have been melting in the 90+ degree heat this week I might have changed my mind.
What do you do on the weekends: I take full advantage of sleeping in, but when I do wake up I usually try to do some cleaning, laundry and maybe go for a run if I'm feeling ambitious.
In honor of the upcoming summer games, what Olympic sport would you try? Well, I used to do gymnastics as a child so I obviously dreamt of being the next Kerri Strug.
Again, happy anniversary and I look forward to getting to know you all a little better!
Re: Happy Anniversaries & Intro to Nest Dani
Welcome! Not sure how many other boards are but the ladies on this board are very tight and most of us have been together for 4 plus years. Many of us have met each other in person during our travels, having little nestie g2g. We love our nestie besties.
Your mention of subway rodents... ugh. I live in Los Angeles and can't stand the city. I moved as far to the outer city limits as I could, lol. Do you struggle with big city life growing up in the midwest?
Again, welcome!
This is my FAVORITE thing about these boards. I lurk a lot, and I love reading about the amazing friendships that have been formed. There is so much love and support. It makes me happy!
As for the adjustment to the big city from the Midwest, it was a bit of a change. But it was something I always knew I wanted. I actually originally wanted to move to LA, but I came out here and it just clicked. I don't know that I'll stay in NY forever, but it's where I want to be for now. I would have to say the biggest challenge is being away from my family and so many friends... but it makes it that much sweeter when I go back!
Yes, I could understand that. I have never visited New York but wish you the best there. I love Southern California... you should definitely at least visit! Have fun with the coordinating of our nest.
