Toddler Classes

What kind of stuff can I find for an 18month old besides music and swim?

Re: Toddler Classes

  • A friend of mine took her daughter to classes at the Little Gym.  I know there are other places that are similar that offer tumbling classes, Mommy and Me classes, etc.

We already go to storytime. That's all we have. I found story dance at the local moving arts place. So that is a possibility.

  • I would be in a similar boat as you.  I loathe driving on the highway and would probably loathe it more with a child so I would also be looking at things in the city that are easily accessible.

I always pass by The Nest, but it seems expensive.

I also remember seeing a place somewhere around 4th & South maybe that offered kids classes of some sort.  I can't remember for sure now.

  • We are starting Little Gymers at the Y this fall.  basically it seems to be a ball and running free for all for toddlers.

  • It is hard- in a few months (or maybe at 2... I forget), art classes are available at fairmount/queen village art center. There is also Inmovement gym in Queen Village which has open gym throughout the week at varying times. We have gone and it was decent. There were toddler sized trampolines, mini ramps, etc. Also, I have come across a blog by a Philly mom (hipster Henry) who writes about activities she does in the city with her toddlers, as well as events that are coming up.
