Need to vent/complain!

I've been having a rough couple of days....

We've been puppy sitting since Tuesday for our friends who just had a baby on Wednesday...and although I'm a HUGE dog lover, this puppy is killing me!!! She's semi-behaved, but she just has so much energy and I don't! She wakes up early, and doesn't go back to sleep (like me!) so I've been up earlier than normal the past few days. All I want to do is relax, watch tv, and rest after work since I'm so tired, but I can't! I also don't know when our friends will be taking her back....but I hope its soon!

H had to work all day yesterday, then all night long. He got home around 11pm, and he was up and out by 6:30, I feel bad complaining to him about being tired because he's been working his butt off!

I also have this terrible cough going on...not sure if its allergies or what, but I wake up in the middle of the night and have a coughing fit, it sucks.

I just want to feel better....get some sleep....and spend time with H....soon, hopefully!

Re: Need to vent/complain!

  • Sounds like you need to wear that dog out with some play time. I know you're tired and all, and it can be hard to summon up the energy. But, physical exercise would probably do you some good, too. You'll feel better. I'm sure that being out of a routine (and her home) isn't helping the pup. I would find out when the owner will take her back, and if it's not for a few more days, I would inquire about what her established routine was. Hopefully they will take her back sooner rather than later so they can establish a routine with the baby and the dog.

    Good luck!

  • You're right, I need to wear out this puppy after I get home from work so she'll settle down a little bit. Her routine before was lots more walks, but it was because the owner (mom) was home most days and they left her outside (we don't have a fenced in yard like they do) so it would be hard for us to try and continue that routine.

The owners had aren't coming home with the baby until Sunday (c-section) so I'm thinking we'll have her until then...but I'm also concerned that we'll get the pup back at some point because the H isn't going to have any time off, and the new Mom will be busy with the baby...she's not a huge dog person, and even without the baby, she was having a hard time being at home all day with her. I should also mention that these are our neighbors, so being asked to watch the dog is normal, and easy to do for them. I honestly don't mind helping out, but I'm tired!! wahhh
