TGIF.

Thank goodness I have today off so I can start figuring stuff out! I just applied for an apartment in FL and they called and left me a message while I was on the other line. I called back and left a message on their voicemail so I hope they call back ASAP.

My parents called this morning and said "Can we help with anything? We're both off today and nothing to do" so now they're driving down here (1.5 hours) to help me decide what to start packing and shop for stuff we'll need. So I'm sitting here waiting.

Anyone doing anything fun this weekend?

Re: TGIF.

  • Nope.  Nothing fun here.  I'm beyond irritated with DH right now.  He told me yesterday we "had" water.  He was at work when I got home, and I just laughed.  I went to rinse out his dirty bowl, and yeah, water my a3s!  It came out in spirts (sp).  He turned the pump off last night (I'm guessing to see if it helps??).  He told me again this morning that we "have" water.  I'll see when I get home.  I'm irritated and frustrated with him because his solution is that we need rain and that we don't need to call someone.  Yes, I know we need rain...but what do you do before we get enough rain??  His solution to that is no water.  WTF?!?  So, I'm just a little beyond irritated with him, and I don't see why he refuses to call someone.  He says he doesn't need to call someone for them to just tell us we're out of water.  GRRR!!!

Oops...this turned into a vent.  Embarrassed

Dee- Good look with getting everythign coordinated!  It's happening so fast that it's probably pretty surreal at the moment.  You're going to get settled down there before it finally hits you!  :)  Its very exciting though!

Athlete - really sucks about the well!  It doesn't look like we'll be getting any more rain in the next few days, hopefully you guys can get something worked out!! :(

We are heading down to a lake tomorrow.  Although - okay here's my vent.

There are going to be 22 people on this boat tomorrow - from 9am-6pm.  DH & his friend bought food for everyone & his friend sent out a text that sandwiches, chips, snacks & water were provided for everyone.  They came home with.. stuff to make 30 sandwiches, 2 bags of chips, 2 little debbie boxes (so 20 snacks), and 24 waters.  How is that going to be enough for everyone?!  EIther they should have bought more, or said in the text that they were providing some food, but ask people to pitch in something, I'm sure they'd be willing to help!  So I went out at lunch today (after getting into a fight with DH - who told me not to worry about it) and spent $50.  Had to buy a new cooler, because we only had 1 and the beer had priority, plus more water and food.  ugghhh...  this should be fun....

    Thanks for my vent!  haha.

  • ky29 - Sounds fun though!!  Are you going to Lake Monroe?  Yeah, totally agree that that would not be even close to enough food for being on the boat for that long!  Especially with guys! :-) Have fun though!! Sorry you guys got into a fight about it!  Guys are just toooo stubborn at times!

Yeah, DH just doesn't want to spend the $$$ to drill any deeper.  I realize that it would suck to have to pay that much money to have a deeper well.  However, I don't know anything about wells.  I don't know how much rain we need to get more water in the water table (or whatever it's called).  I told him I want out of this house as soon as possible.  I'm over it.  I hate the well turning white clothes yellow and the water staining the bathtub.

  • We have a birthday party to go to Saturday. Other than that, just relaxing. I start my new job bright and early Monday morning.

We're under a flash flood watch for the weekend. Wish I could send some of this rain somewhere else...

  • Dee...I'm so happy and excited for you!  What an adventure!

Today is DH's last day of work and I have to work a half day tomorrow, and then we are both on vacation!  Not doing anything special, but want to just hang out and relax together and finish our dining room project.

  • This will be our first weekend in the new house when we are not crazy busy or hosting a party, so I'm going to do as little as possible! For once, I don't have freelance to work on, I'm all done school and we don't have a million family obligations, so my key goal for the weekend is to relax!

There are a few small projects we want to start tackling around the house, but otherwise I want to sleep in, catch up on TV and read a book.

Dee - That's great that your parents are willing to come down to help you. It'll seem overwhelming at first, but once you dive in, you'll be fine.

  • I helped one of our friends out today. He had car trouble and I rescued him from the Burger King parking lot. He was in a crud mood because the interview he was headed to didn't tell him they were rescheduling until he called and said he was running late! So I ran my errands (post office) with him and took him out to eat (had to try and cheer him up). Then he got a call about needing to go do freelance work. I drove him there. I am so worn out because I didn't sleep well last night plus after eating my tummy started acting up.

My BFF just called and she is coming into town and wants to hang out tomorrow night! She has not been here since the day H and I got engaged (going on 3 years now). So I am super excited.

Also, watching Project Runway with my friend later. Can't wait to see it!

  • Dee- good luck with the move and I hope evrything goes smoothly. It is very nice that your parents can help you out.

Athlete- That stinks about the well. Can't imagine living without water. I am so not a pioneer woman.

  • Sounds like everyone has a fun weekend planned! Erollis - Yeah, you don't realize how much you need water until you don't have water!
