Speech therapy for preschoolers
My ds has trouble with his "k" sounds, when he says k words they tend to have a "d" sound. It's frustrating for him because his me starts with "k". Anyone else dc have a problem with certain sounds? I am not sure if it is something that he will just eventually get or if I should look into some sort of speech therapy. His four year wellness visit isn't until next month so I was just looking for suggestions. Thanks!
Re: Speech therapy for preschoolers
At that age, I was worried about some of EJ's letter sounds too. But was told that the ones I was concerned with were harder to make and would develop later and not to worry about it. I forget which ones it was now... but because I was in speech therapy when I was in elementary school for my S's and R's I was extra sensitive to it. She still pronounces a few things funny. But it is more charming than concerning anymore. She has improved the sounds I was concerned with without any intervention.
ETA- this link does say that K sounds are one of these more difficult sounds.

THank you so much for the reply!
I did read that k's were hard, I just feel bad because he gets frustrated when other little kids cant understand his name!
I know he is still young, I am hoping it
just works itself out, in the meantime I am reading books with lots of K
words so hopefully that will help.
