Annnnnd here come the issues
While cleaning and painting, I started to notice that all the dust from the renovations seemed to be "sticking" the the hardwood floors, I felt like I was sweeping forever! Come to find out NONE of the harwood flooring was sanded and finished properly so we have to get it re-done, thank god we know someone that does flooring who was able to give us a reduced rate but thats still 2K that we had not expected! So PISSED!
Re: Annnnnd here come the issues
Yikes! What a mess...I'd be pissed too!
We just found out yesterday that AT&T is redoing their telephone lines, which is great because our internet (DSL) has been really cutting out lately, so new lines will probably fix that.
The downside: They are cutting a trench through our lawn and driveway to do it since they are underground lines...Will they fix it? Probably, but will they fix it so it looks as good or better than before? Probably not...Luckily we don't have to pay for it...
Isn't being a homeowner great? :P
I hope that's the biggest problem you face for a while, and that you can relax in your home.
Wow, I hope they fix it correctly, will you have any recourse if they don't?
Ugh just so pissed about this whole thing, I mean I expected things to come up but good lord we havent even finished moving in. smh But I hope this is it for a while too.
They will definitely be hearing from me if they don't fix it correctly, but will they do anything about it? I don't know. They have already destroyed one corner of our lawn and they just started. They cut our sprinkler line in that corner, and to get to the other side of our lawn they are going to have to go through some roots to our tree and other sprinklers. I will be sooo pissed if they kill our tree...
The worst part is that we just fixed our driveway! (It had cracks and the insurance company had a fit about it). My husband spent a whole weekend fixing it, and now they are going to cut right through it...
If they don't or won't fix it correctly, then we will have to either live with it or spend lots of money fixing it, but I am hoping they are professional enough not to do that to us. We will see...
That really sucks though that you had to come up with that much money at once. We have probably put that much in total with all the minor repairs around the house, but it's been over a period of time, which makes it easier....
How do you like your house besides that though?
Yeah, that's what I'm worried about. I've hear horror stories about what they do to people's front yards. I completely understand that it has to get done, but they could at least give us a warning. They put a note on the door one day before they started working on it, and dug a hole, and now have left it there, so we'll see when I get home if they did more work or not...
My bet is that they dig a huge trench today, just to leave it there over the weekend in the heat with sprinkler lines cut...
