Re: What are you reading?

  • I just finished The Tower, the Zoo and the Tortoise and loved it. It's a fictional tale about a beefeater at the Tower of London who is charged with taking care of the Queen's gifted animals when they are moved from the zoo to the Tower. It was very cute.

I just started Shanghai Girls this morning and like it so far.

  • Heart-Shaped Box - Joe Hill. Very scary - I just started this last night and am almost 1/2 way through.

Baby Days - Games, Ideas, Activities for enjoying daily life with a child under Three. Barbara Rowley. From a website, I got this idea to create an acitivity box with note cards. Each card has a different activity, including materials, mess quotient, etc. I figured that even if I did 10 cards, it would give me ideas of things to do with DD when it's too hot to go out, or it's raining or I need to try and get stuff done around the house.

The Dark Tower: The Wind Through the Keyhole  - Stephen King.

AlternaTickers - Cool, free Web tickers
  • I just picked up Another piece of my heart by Jane Green. So far I'm liking it, quick read. Hope to finish this weekend.

  • I just finished re-reading "Good in Bed"

  • Last week I read Divergent and Insurgent by Veronica Roth - they were EXCELLENT.

I haven't read anything since then because I can't find anything else that appeals to me. Also: I got addicted to the old seasons of Mad Men and am spending my evenings propping my eyelids open to get through as many episodes as I can each night.

  • Finally finished Lola and the Boy Next Door.  I ended up loving it - even more than Anna and the French Kiss.

Currently reading Hexed (Book 2 of the Iron Druid Chronicles) and Shadow of Night (sequel to Discovery of Witches).  I'm a little disappointed in Shadow of Night so far as compared to Discovery of Witches, which I loved.  Hexed is a fun, quick read.

  • I just read The Uglies by Scott Westerfeld in less than 24 hours (it helped that I have no husband at home this weekend and essentially nothing else to do).

It was recommended for people who like The Hunger Games. Like THG, it's a young adult fiction book set in a dystopian society. I really enjoyed it for a quick read and am looking forward to picking up the second in the series, The Pretties.

I went to the library yesterday to pick up one book to read this weekend and left with five. I have a problem. I think I'm going to read Still Missing by Chevy Stevens next.

That's another one I picked up at the library. I like Jane Green a lot, so I'm looking forward to it.

I read these awhile back and really enjoyed the first couple.  The third one sort of lost me.
