Dark Knight Rises and the Jumbotron...no spoilers in here

We saw it yesterday afternoon as a matinee while DD was at daycare.  First....awesome movie.  Second, I couldn't believe for the life of me that they didn't redo the ad sponsors on the scoreboard/Jumbotron at Heinz Field during one of the biggest scenes in the movie.  Seriously, UPMC, Giant Eagle, Xfinity, etc.  I mean....I was expecting them to cover up UPMC/giant eagle with Gotham Center Hospital, Gotham National Bank, etc.  anyone know why they didn't?  Did it have anything to do with the licensing agreements of the stadium, did UPMC/GE pay to keep it in though I can't imagine the cost  or was it an oversight?  I don't remember seeing the Heinz Field logo at the top or the ketchup bottles but I know most of the upper board wasn't visible much

  • It is possible that it was an oversight.  Some small production detail they forgot to change in editing.

On the other hand film makers get a lot of money to use one brand of pop over another and the cars the characters drive.  Maybe UPMC and Giant Eagle paid their share to be branded into the movie?

  • Were there a lot of good shots of Pittsburgh?
  • Yeah, with all of the product placing you are seeing these days, I'm sure these companies paid to have their logos kept. Hollywood is too swift to miss it (and pass up an opportunity to make money) and UPMC, at least, is too savvy to miss the opportunity to be in this huge movie.
