Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
I'm just a lurker here, but I used to work in title, and there's no way this wasn't known before-hand by the sellers and/or the title agency. I might talk to the attorney about pushing back with the title company as to why this wasn't found during the title search.
I may not be understanding the situation completely, but it seems to me that if the title agency did a correct title search, this would've been found WAY prior to a few days before closing was scheduled!
