Estes Park Colorado?

Anyone have some must do things in Estes Park area?

We have a haunted hotel tour booked, a horse back riding adventure, and zip lining.

we'll be there 6 days, will have a rental car so we can drive to surrounding towns if needed.

  • Rocky Mountain National Park....I am assuming you had already thought about that :)

  • Yep RMNP. But if you hike, be sure to bring supplies (you NEVER hike in the Rockies without at least basic supplies). Water, food, sturdy shoes, a hat, jacket, .... just GOOGLE basic hiking supplies.

A hike to Lake Haiyaha. Breakfast at Meadow Mountain Cafe in Allenspark, about 17 miles south of Estes Park. Great food in a really neat setting that is well worth the drive.

  • If you like Indian type foods then Nepals (along the riverwalk) is excellent. I love stopping by the Cherry store on my way to Loveland (Hwy 34) for their cherry juice and cherry pies. Fort Collins is a fun town with a bunch of breweries to visit and a great Old Town area to shop and dine. I'd say it's about an hour from Estes. On the other way out of Estes (Hwy 36) there is a fun malt/burger stand in Lyons. Boulder isn't terribly far away either, Pearl Street Mall is great (better than the Old Town in Ft Collins). If you drive all the way through the park to Grand Lake there are restaurants and shops too. I think it's gorgeous to drive through, stop and have lunch in Grand Lake, then drive back.
    This is my AE.
