Weekly book post

I haven't read anything in the last week and a half. I have been out of town. I had two books I got from the library two weeks ago tomorrow and have to return them tomorrow. Oh well. I can read anytime and I spent my time visiting with my extended family and then DH's sister

Re: Weekly book post

  • I've been reading a ton! due to tutoring only 8 hours a week this summer, and the girl was at camp for the first two weeks of July, and she's out of town again this week.

Just finished the book Jodi Picoult wrote with her daughter. It's a YA book about the characters in a fairy tale.  Between the Lines

I also read Hate List this week. It was a tough one to read, as the premise is that the main character wrote a Hate List with her bf, only to have him use the list in a school shooting.  It deals with the aftermath.

Currently struggling to read Choke. This is the fourth or fifth book from the 1001 books to read list that I have started (didn't finish the others).

Can't wait to hear what you think of Choke.  I read it for the 1001 list challenge.  It is short!

  • I just finished Voyager, all 1000+ pages last night!  I plan on starting some shorter books!

I am listening to The Island by Elin Hillenbrand.  It is a cute summer read although I am not crazy about all of the characters/storylines that are woven together.

I am reading Racing in the Rain, the YA/kids version of The Art of Racing in the Rain.  It is not my kind of book, but I am not a big animal person and the story is told from the dog's point of view.  I do think kids would like it.

  • I know I haven't posted in just about forever. I have been reading a lot lately, though. I got a bunch of free kindle books from Amazon that I read. "somebody tell aunt tilly she's dead" was ok. Enjoyable enough but not great literature. "dark seeker" by taryn Browning was a YA and pretty good. I want to read the next one. It wasnt a hard read at all but enjoyable enough for me to want to read more. "Prince of Wolves" was alright, ill probably read the next if I can get it for free. That was also YA. I feel like I read a lot of YA lately.

  • I had to split this into 2 posts because of my phone. I just finished listening to the audiobook for "Shiver" the first in the series of the Wolves of Mercy Falls, and it was really good. It is YA so its not hard to get into and doesn't require much hard thinking (lol). The story was interesting and the language/writing was powerful. I love the author's writing style. I think it was a fantastic choice to pick up as an audiobook. I just didn't want to wait on the forever hold list at my library for the kindle ebook version haha

  • I just finished Attachments which was a good quick read. Very cute, great characters. Now I am starting in on The Time Traveler's Wife. It was recommended by a friend so we'll see!  It feels good to get back to reading... I hadn't really been doing it much lately for some reason.

What did you think of Between the Lines?

It was cute! Started it on Sunday, and finished it yesterday. It's one of those books that switches viewpoints every chapter though.
