Themed Posts For Diff Days???

So back in the day we had a Nesties cooking club post each week - there was a theme for the week and folks posted recipes to go with that theme. There was also a featured 'Cookie' who was tasked with posting an entire meal (app, entree, dessert) of her choosing, and it didn't have to fit the theme. Our awesome, wicked super cool head chef Pam used to "host" it but I don't think she checks here much anymore.

I also have been doing a well-being wednesday post on a few other boards, a sort of place for folks to check in with each other and share their progress on things like weight loss, fitness goals, crafting, books, emotional/mental well-being, etc. Not just weight loss. Ties together with my blog posts of the same theme on Wednesdays.

So what do we think? Do we want to do such things again? I LOVED the cooking club day - I have more recipes in my life that are now staples that I got from those posts!

Let me know - I'm happy to "host" them both -- we could do the cooking one on maybe Tues or Thurs?

I'm game for doing themed posts each week. I know we initially discussed this here when the mass exodus occurred, but with only a couple "regular" posters, it never really materialized.

Thanks for stepping up, and reintroducing this idea, Michele!

I'd love to hear what other ideas the ladies may have. So good to have some action over here again!

    Count me in!

I think the cooking club post would be easy to start again. I'm not sure if there are enough people to rotate through the Featured Cookie menu again - I know I had trouble coming up with a new combo more than every couple of months, but I can try!

I think opening the cooking club early in the week, like Tuesday, is good so people can add as the week goes on. I know I do my meal planning on the weekend, so I used to look through the recipes on Friday to see if something appealed to me.

Well-being Wednesday sounds good, too. I also miss the confession session/good thoughts post because sometimes you just need to let it out, or ask for T&P but don't want to make a whole post just for yourself.

How about a Random Post day?  I think that was started often on Thursdays... and always generated a lot of traffic!
  • yay! I agree about featured cookies, it was always hard to get enough folks and come up with enough ideas.

I'm excited! I'm happy to do the posting on these days to get it started, but please, if anyone else wants to do it just shout! Here's what I'm thinking:

Monday - Meaningful Monday (happy things!)
Tuesday - RI Nesties Cooking Club
    Wednesday - Well-being Wednesday
Thursday -  Good Thoughts & Confession Sessions
Friday - Free for All Friday (a/k/a Random Thoughts)

I'll start a separate post today for folks to throw out ideas of weekly meal themes and compile them so we can start this next week!
