Europe in Winter
DH and I are looking to go somewhere in Europe for about 11 days and are trying to determine where to go. I've never been anywhere over there, so our options are pretty open.He has already been to London, so that's out. We want to try going to 2 places (fly into one area, take a train to the other, and then fly out).
Any thoughts or recommendations? TIA!

Europe is obviously a big place, with so many different cultures, cuisines, landscapes, etc. so it's not like there's an "best place to go" - it's all going to depend on what you want to get out of the trip.
Is there one culture you've always been really interested in? Is your budget higher or lower? Do you speak any language? Do you prefer cities, countryside? Food, wine, art, outdoor activities? What type of weather are you willing to deal with and will you be traveling over any holidays? I'd think about those logistics and what places fit my criteria, think about what most appeals to me and build my trip around that.
I generally prefer to pick one country for a trip of about 10 days and see multiple cities in that country. So with 10-11 days I might do Rome, Venice, and Florence, or Barcelona, Rioja and San Sebastian....but I've also looked at cities close enough by train in surrounding countries - so you could do Paris and Amsterdam or Prague and Vienna.
I also wouldn't discount flying between cities if you want to go somewhere farther away. You need to pay more attention to exactly where the airport is since some are far out of the city, and take into account extra time in getting to the airport, but sometimes it's cheaper and faster to fly than take the train.
You could also look at booking your stopover into your flights. Icelandair offers free stopovers in Iceland (I LOVE Iceland) on the way to Europe, or you can book two sets of tickets. I've done this a few times - last year we scored super cheap tickets to Madrid and then bought easyjet tickets into Porto and out of Lisbon so we were able to spend time in all three cities.
I would do greece and turkey. The weather is chilly but not too chilly. I actually found going to greece in june when it was so hot was not fun because everything was packed and hot as hell but the ocean was still to cold to swim in.
Ireland and Scotland are actually quite nice in the winter.
I'd also condsider Italy and Greece or Greece and Turkey or Italy and Spain.
It really depends on what you guys want to do and see while you're there
