Financial Question and Credit Cards

We gotta buy a new furance and its gonna be like $3k.

The card we would like to put this on has the highest limit but also the highest interest rate for purchases. However, its balance transfer rate is awesome, 2.9%. Can I put this large purchase on one card and then transfer it to this card right after to take advantage of the rate? is that wrong or weird?

Re: Financial Question and Credit Cards

  • I have done that before, to get the points on one card and the interest rate on another. Just make sure you pay it all off before the promotional period ends or you could get hit with a high rate on the whole balance!

  • I'd do it. Once right after college when I had to make a big purchase for house stuff, I opened a new card that had 0% interest for something like 18 months. Just make sure to pay it all off before the promo ends, no matter what you do.
