Marriage Counseling Recommendations
Sorry to just come on here and ask for help but I don't have anyone irl i can ask this. I did look for a couple of pages back and didn't see any post like this.
My husband and I need to work on our marriage (obviously from my title...). Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. We live on the west side of town so west or north would be best but at this point I'll take anything. thank you!

The only thing I can think of is checking into your company's EAP services (employee assistance) - they may be able to point you to good counselors.
I think it takes a brave and strong couple to realize that relationships take work and that, sometimes, outside intervention is needed, so I wish you luck!

I did not like Relationship Resolutions in Greentree behind the Olive Garden. We saw two different counselers and they kept focusing on me getting used to the idea that my husband wanted out. The point of being there was to work on our relationship not end it.
Good for you for seeking help. We waited quite a while for help and are still struggling. DH moved out in November but I am hopeful that he will move back in eventually.

we LOVED relationship resolutions. we saw mary anne fisher, specifically. not only did we love her, but i continued to see her on an individual basis. i also referred some others and they also love her. it's a shame to hear that someone else did not like them. i would credit the fact that we made it to our wedding day almost entirely on mary anne. obviously we needed to do the work and make the effort, but if it hadn't been for her guiding us it wouldn't have happened.
i will say that you have to continue seeing her to really get somewhere. she will dig up issues that neither of us walked in wanting to talk about. she uncovers things that we didn't realize the other even had issues with. for a couple of months i would continuously refer to our sessions as knocking down the establishment and rebuilding the walls little by little. it took time.
also, she will talk with each party separately for at least one full session. so if something is said during one of those private sessions that leads her to believe that she needs to help guide them in a certain direction. she made it a point to tell us that she was not there to tell us if we should separate or not, but rather to navigate through our issues and learn how to deal with them. if it had become apparent that the relationship just wasn't going to work i can absolutely see her changing courses and working on coping with that, rather than spending all her efforts on trying to a couple that they should not separate.
