If you work for yourself - pls help me balance my life and work!
I am looking for some experience and tips in balancing life and work when you are only accountable to yourself. I am contracted to manage a an internship program and its taking over my life! Clients are always calling me, there is always a crisis, more email, more details, it never ends!! I am really trying to not answer the phone or respond to emails, but its hard to respond in a timely manner. SO - any tips on how to get some boundaries put into place?
TIA

I agree! Set hours!
See what your contract states, but if possible state that you will be in the office from 9-1 M-F. Then from 1-5 or 1-6, take the time to sort through paperwork, return emails and do administrative stuff. Once your cut off time hits, walk out of the "office" and go do something personal not business related.
I used to work from home and it was really hard to go back and forth between the two, but setting designated hours was one of the best things I did.
