It's pretty slow around here! What's everyone up to? Anything exciting going on this weekend?
This week has been dragging for me!
For the first weekend in a while, we don't have any plans.. which I'm very excited about! Hopefully we can get the house clean & grocery shop.

I've just been swamped at work, so I haven't been able to check the board that often, and I've had lunch out of the office twice this week so I'm not at my desk to be on here then either.
There's really nothing too exciting for me this week. We're doing more organizing this weekend. Last weekend we went to the NY Botanical Gardens and ended up buying a small plant for our home. It's nice to finally decorate and settle in a bit, even though we've lived there for one year tomorrow!
I was just wondering the same thing...
We are doing an Olympics pool at work and we drew our countries today - I got China AND Russia! Should be interesting!
This weekend should be fairly low-key. I have a girl's night in on Saturday evening, but otherwise no major plans. Probably grocery shopping and cleaning too! DH and I agreed to do one house thing each weekend (whether it's putting up some pictures or fixing something), so we'll do something around the house too.
Now that the place has been cleaned I feel better about being home and more motivated to do things. Now doing easy clean up is easy. Still no scrubbing or heavy lifting for me. I am tackling our closets again. They seem less daunting now everything else is squared away. I can't do much except go through paperwork (school, old bills I kept for some reason, everything that has been filed away for 10 years, etc) and shred the living daylights out of it. I finally bought a paper shredder and I am making a ton of headway. But I did push myself a bit to much yesterday and feeling it today. I am having fun shredding everything. It kind of looks like hamster bedding.
My mother and 2 brothers are visiting this weekend. So we get the joy of playing host Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. This will be a test. Them staying at our place normally isn't a issue but I hope they don't run me ragged. My mom did say will we help out with chores so we will see. I would love for her to help with the laundry. I know DH is sick of doing it (fyi no washer or dryer in our home).
I've been pretty busy at work lately, and it's going to start picking up more real soon too, so I won't be able to be on during the day. Our busy season starts the first week of September in the warehouse, so I'll be busy starting in a couple of weeks. I'll be hiring about 150-160 seasonals over a course of 3 months. That's a lot of interviewing and orientations to do!
Other than that, DH and I are heading down to the river for the day on Saturday. Hopefully his uncle will be there, so we can go out on the boat!
DH might be getting his own restaurant to manage soon, so we're hoping for that/waiting for that offer. That'll be exciting!
Not too much happening in our lives...praying for some rain!

This week I joined the living world and started working during the day. I'm loving it so far and can't wait to jump more into things. So, unfortunately I'm not able to get on the computer as much as with my last job.
This weekend my cousin and her bf are coming in town, so most likely we'll be doing dinner and some other fun stuff. I'm slowly getting used to being able to have a life again.

I tried sending some your way but instead caused us to have a lack of rain. Hope you are getting rain.
This week was my last week of work plus packing to leave tomorrow so it flew by. My last day of work was horrible. We were very busy, short-staffed, and our photo machine kept jamming and I was the only one there who knew how to fix it. So I was running around all day and spent hours taking parts out of the machine, looking places that splashed chemicals on me, etc.
We're in the middle of packing the truck to start moving tomorrow. It started storming like crazy so we had to stop but I think it's over now. I'm nervous to move now. I was feeling confident about the job, but then they told me yesterday I also have to do the chorus. Normally there's a separate teacher for each since band and chorus are very different and require a lot of different planning. I'm nervous I'm in over my head, but in reality I know I have the training for it all. I'm just nervous about how overwhelmed I'm going to be for a while
Haha...still dry as a bone :-( We really really really don't want to dig deeper since we're wanting to move soon, so that's ultimately the main reason we haven't done anything about it and just hoping for rain. I did e-mail some companies to see prices, and one company said 6-8 thousand dollars for a new well :-(
I'm just really happy that we have a LA Fitness membership and my parents live close by, so I can take laundry over there! I was really hoping for some rain this evening, but it looks like it went just south of us :-(

Just been super busy at work as well and then the night seems to fly right by! Trying to exercise, spend time with everyone and then have some "me" time is hard.
This weekend my sister and her fam are finally back from their month-long trip to Europe so they are finally taking my father out for his birthday which was about 2 wks ago. We may go or just have dessert since we already took him out. Plus we have a friend visiting from Portland, OR to go to the CA State Fair like he always does. Should be a fun weekend!
Work has kept me busy lately and driving me insane...but that's nothing new. I only have three weeks left full-time and in the position I'm in and then its back to school! I'm excited. Even if this doesn't pan out for some reason (forgive me, I'm a pessimist) I know the current place I am in isn't the right fit for me.
I've a bridal shower to go to this weekend for a girl that one of my cousins is marrying, we watched the opening ceremony of the olympics (all four hours or so) per my son's request, and we're going to hammer down some more of his Birthday party ideas.
