Today was my first official day as a teacher! We had a 2 hr staff meeting and then had the rest of the day to ourselves. I had a chance to talk to my grade partner about our reading curriculum. I think she may be leaving to take a higher paying position though, which means there will be 3 BRAND NEW teachers for the 2nd grade at the school. I'm nervous about that. I am also trying to figure out how I am going to visit 20 homes in less than 2 weeks before school starts.
Re: Official 1st Day
YAY!! I am glad you seem to be fitting right in... and if you can't look at all of the houses before school starts, you can do a few after it does. I would start with the most promising houses first, then maybe you won't have to go to them all!
I am so happy for you! I hope the first day with the students goes well.
Why do you have to visit 20 homes? Are you visiting your student's homes? Or are you looking to buy a house? I'm confused.
Married the love of my life on 1-21-12. Our princess arrived on 5-28-13.
Sorry for not clarifying. I have to visit my students at their homes. Part of the school charter is about parent involvment. I set up 5 appointments for Saturday and 4 appointments for Sunday. DH is going along with me so I don't have to go alone. I have another two visits scheduled for during next week.
