Curaçao (November/December)

DH and I found a great deal on flights to cura?ao and have always been interested in this location.  But since we tend to surf while on vacation, we always end up somewhere with waves. However, since I'm currently pregnant, there will be no surfing.

Has anyone been to Cura?ao? When would be better; November or December? Where should we stay; figuring somewhere in town? Avila Hotel? I know there is snorkeling, but what else is there to do? Where should we eat?  Anything else I should know?

Re: Curaçao (November/December)

  • i LOVE curacao!! it's my favorite island (of 14 or so). dh and i stayed on the beach, not in town. the snorkeling is fantastic, it's super easy to get around with your own car. i'd say december only for the fact that hurricane season goes until the end of november but it's so rare that they get hit that i dont think it matters either way-and one can happen after november 30th anyway. go either time. we especially enjoyed our sunset dinner at fort nassau-it's WAY up on a huge hill that overlooks the whole island and is an old fort. just fun. we spent the whole week driving to differnt beaches and snorkeling. and had a blast!
Friday, December 28 2012. The day I had emergency appendix surgery in Mexico and quit smoking. Proof that everything has a good side!! DH and I are happily child-free!! No due date or toddler tickers here!! my read shelf:

What hotel/hotels do you recommend from where you've stayed or what you've seen while there?
