Keeping Hamburgers Warm?

Hi - I''m having a party tomorrow night and the main food is a Slider Bar.  I'll be grilling up lots of little sliders and then people can mix and match toppings.  I can't figure out the best way to keep the burgers warm and juicy; and I don't want to be maning the grill all night.  I have ready many blogs but looking for some advice.  I can grill them all the way, plate on buns and stick in the oven covered in foil and pull out batches as needed.  I can place the burgers in a chaffing dish, and buns on the side.  If I do this, does the chaffing dish need any other liquid besides the bottom container?  I don't want them to be soggy.

What would you prefer as a guest?  What do you think works best?

Re: Keeping Hamburgers Warm?

  • Putting them on buns in the oven will probably lead to more of a White Castle sort of soggy bun because of the heat.  I would probably do the chafing dish, but I would put a liquid in the bottom.  I'm thinking just a simple beef broth would work.
  • Not to add to the decisions, but we usually just put them in a slow cooker on low with some water in the bottom.  Stays warm, no soggy bun.
