The superiendent returned my call today. He said that there was nothing I did wrong and nothing I could improve on. He said he loved all my answers and my experience was outstanding, and that I presented myself in a very professional way---however, it was a very hard decision for him and it came down to a few of us and someone else just came up on top. I asked if he contacted my former principal and he said no. He just went by the reference letters I provided him.
This is good news, but it doesn't hurt any less.
Re: The truth hurts
Sometimes that decision has to be made on a gut feeling. When I was hiring a new concierge, I had 2 applicants who interviewed beautifully and it was a very tough choice. I almost felt like I just needed to draw a name from a hat.
That is very good that he did not see any negatives. You'll get a teaching job when its the right time and right position. I know that sucks to hear but I am firm believer everything happens for a reason. Hang in there!
You're right but this is a very small school and positions don't open up very often.
Married the love of my life on 1-21-12. Our princess arrived on 5-28-13.
Yes, you're right. Thanks!

Hang in there Tara! I was told the same exact thing several times before I FINALLY got hired. Someone out there will see and appreciate how good of a teacher you are and they'll hire you. I know it's hard to be patient, but all these rejections could be leading you to the school you are REALLY meant to be at.
